Canadian Municipal Election Study

We invite applications for a 2-year postdoctoral fellow and project manager to support the Canadian Municipal Election Study (CMES), a SSHRC-funded study of local elections in eight Canadian cities. The position will be hosted at the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Ryerson University.  Candidates should have a completed PhD in political science or a related discipline and a demonstrated interest and expertise in one or more of the following subjects: municipal politics, political behaviour, and public opinion.

Responsibilities will include data management, working with project members to design and implement surveys of candidates and electors, contributing to technical reports and academic papers, and helping to coordinate project events.

The ideal candidate will be well-organized, interested in collaborative work, and have strong quantitative methodological research skills.  Fluency in both English and French would be considered an asset.

The workload for this position is as follows:  30% for personal research, 30% for collaborative work with other project members, and 40% for project research and management.

The position will commence on or around July 1, 2018.  Compensation will be $42,500/year.  Additional benefits provided.
